With the growing demand for services that can help growers detect unknown pathogens, Healthy Hydroponics is excited to announce the launch of its new Custom Solutions!
What are the benefits of this new service?
Healthy Hydroponics’ new Custom Solutions is to aid growers in different R&D-related projects. Our new service aims to help you identify the differences in the microbiomes of systems that may be contributing to poor crop yield and quality.
This includes understanding the following:
- Differences between good and poor crops
- Persistence of microbial inoculants in crops/systems
- Unknown pathogens that may be affecting your crops
- Efficacy of disinfectants on microbial load in water
What does the new service entail?
Growers will first have a discovery call with one of our microbiologists so we can learn about their needs and come up with a sampling and detection plan to meet their needs. Our team will then follow up with a proposal for sampling and detection. From there, another call will be scheduled to follow up and make changes to the plan if needed. Growers always have a say throughout the process to ensure that Custom Solutions meets all their needs. Once a sampling plan has been optimized and agreed upon, growers can send samples to our lab in Waterloo, ON. Once samples have been received, our lab technicians will work on processing and sequencing the samples. Next, our bioinformatics team will work on sample analysis to ensure data makes sense to growers. Data will also be uploaded onto our Growers’ Portal, and a follow-up call will be scheduled so our team can review all the results to ensure growers understand the data and are not left with any questions.
