Plant Pathogen Detection and Microbiome Monitoring
The microbial communities (microbiomes) in hydroponic systems affect the overall health, robustness, and yield of the plants. Our services at Health Hydroponics help you detect and monitor the pathogens and microbiome in your hydroponic system, allowing you to ensure the highest quality of crops and the long-term surveillance of the health of your hydroponic system.
Pathogen Mini
Pathogen Mini detects the presence of one pathogen.
It can be used as:
- A precautionary measure to detect pathogens early in asymptomatic crops
- A pathogen detection test in symptomatic crops
- For ToBRFV, this test is able to tell apart non-viable and viable viral particles for a more accurate diagnosis.
Each Pathogen Mini test detects the presence of one pathogen in a sample. Results are provided within 2-3 business days upon receiving samples. This service uses qPCR technology for detecting bacteria, fungi, and fungal-like organisms or RT-qPCR for viruses. You can collect samples such as water, leachate, and plant material e.g. leaves, roots, etc and send it to us for testing.

Pathogen+
Pathogen+ identifies the relative abundance of 500+ plant and foodborne pathogens.
It can be used as:
- A precautionary measure to detect a wide range of pathogens in your system before symptoms appear
- A pathogen detection test in symptomatic crops when the problem is unknown
The advantage of Healthy Hydroponics and Pathogen+ is the ability to track the same pathogen in different samples over time.
Pathogen+ uses amplicon sequencing technology for detecting bacteria, fungi, and fungal-like organisms. You can collect samples such as water, irrigation water, leachate, roots and even swabs!
